first_imgJob Description:The Department of Dermatology at the University of Maryland, Schoolof Medicine seeks to recruit 3 additional board certified/eligibledermatologists to our faculty. The positions available are asfollows:(1) General Medical Dermatology: The successful candidate will joinour Department of Dermatology at the University of Maryland Schoolof Medicine and provide patient care and education within ourresidency training program. The ideal candidate will have a stronginterest both in practicing and teaching general dermatology, andin developing a subspecialty focus in dermatology. Particular areasof subspecialty interest include inpatient consultativedermatology, complex medical dermatology, and/or dermatology ofskin of color. A commitment to resident education isnecessary.(2) Oncologic Dermatology: This position is for a dermatologistwith an interest in developing a clinical research program incutaneous oncology or the interface between dermatology and acutecancer care and/or leading clinical trials in cutaneous oncology.Protected time will be available to develop research interests.Candidates with active Federal research funding will be consideredfor the Shapiro Endowed Professorship in Dermatology.(3) Chief of VA Dermatology: a dual-appointment, full-time facultyposition is available for the position of Chief of VA Dermatology,VA Maryland Health Care System. This position, to include a 7/8thsVA commitment with a faculty appointment at the University ofMaryland School of Medicine, will be based at the Baltimore VAMC.This position includes the opportunity to lead a diverse staff ofdermatologists, to guide resident education at the Baltimore VAMC,and to develop a research program supported by VA’s Office ofResearch & Development.Qualifications :The Department of Dermatology at the University of Maryland Schoolof Medicine seeks to fill 3 additional academic dermatologistpositions.Expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rankand tenure status is dependent on candidate’s qualifications.
