The research will also investigate the options available for community based structures to facilitate `enhanced community participation” and partnership with statutory organisations. Members of the city council’s Housing Committee have been informed that tenders were invited last May and Nexus Research Co-operative, Dublin was appointed to carry out the research.Sign up for the weekly Limerick Post newsletter Sign Up “A steering group has been put in place to work with the company,” the director of services, Kieran Lehane informed the committee.The terms of reference include a review of governance of the groups involved: consultation mechanisms with the wider community: the selection and participation of residents and an examination of the strengths and weaknesses of groups.A review of the Estate Management/Social  Intervention Grants Scheme will also be reviewed by the council.Pointing out however, that in view of changes at national level and the local research and changes that are underway, it is now recommended that the Housing Committee awaits the Nexus research, as well as clarification at government level, the council director of services, Kieran Lehane said  a report will be supplied to members of the committee in the coming months.
